A fire in your home is one of the most traumatic events you can experience. It requires professional help to assess the extent of the damage and determine what actions you need to restore your home to its former condition. In Marietta, we can help clients with thorough and reliable property damage assessment and fire damage restoration Marietta to give you peace of mind and security after such a devastating event. This post will provide you with an overview of a fire damage restoration project we have handled in Marietta, GA.

Project Description

In March 2022, we received a call to assess a Marietta property’s fire and smoke damage. The fire occurred in the crawl space. While there was no major structural damage, the resulting smoke filled the home with an acrid smell that permeated everything in the house. Although everyone escaped the fire without injury, the unpleasant lingering odors prevented them from returning to their home.

Project Solution

We sent a team to perform a complete fire damage restoration project on the property. The project took two weeks. The first step was to assess how much damage the blaze left in its wake. Despite finding no structural damage to the crawl space, we discovered extensive soot covering the whole area. Our next step was to remove all the items in the crawl space that sustained damage in the fire, including personal belongings and fixtures.

After ensuring that the crawl space area was secure, we focused on ridding the home of the offensive smell. Our technicians used air scrubbers to remove airborne particles and mitigate lingering health hazards. Negative air fans were employed to flush out the polluted air and bring in fresh air from outside.

Next, we employed vacuums with HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filters to remove soot particles from the space. We made sure to run the vacuums over all the exposed surfaces inside the property and inside the ducts. Finally, we used deodorizing agents and ozone machines to remove all smoke odors and airborne microbes.

After removing all the soot and smoke odors, our technicians used a thermal fogging mist to disinfect all exposed surfaces. Our team then wiped down these surfaces to prevent bacteria and mold growth. We used the disinfectant solution Benefact to remove all dangerous microbes from surfaces and restore the home to a safe and hygienic condition. Before leaving the premises, we performed a final examination to ensure that all surfaces were clean and no smoke odors remained.

Project Results

After a complete fire damage restoration project to remove all smoke and soot damage, we restored our client’s home to their satisfaction. The homeowners were able to return to a living space that was clean, safe, and ready for occupancy after a few weeks. They appreciated our special attention to cleaning personal areas such as their bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and living room. They also appreciated our efforts to clean their crawl space and return it to its pre-loss condition.
