Centennial Olympic Park is a 22-acre public park located in downtown Atlanta, Georgia. The Georgia World Congress Center Authority owns and operates the park. It was constructed by the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games as part of the 1996 Summer Olympics infrastructure upgrades.

History of Centennial Olympic Park

The park was constructed in preparation for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta and the 2017 Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games. The park comprises three sporting venues: the Centennial Olympic Stadium (which hosted the Centennial Olympic Games), the Aquatic Center (which served as the Olympic Games' Aquatics Center), and the Downtown Park (a series of fields and grassy areas).

Public Facilities:

Centennial Olympic Park is a public resource that is utilized by both the city of Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center Authority for a variety of events and purposes. The park is one of the world's largest and most visited outdoor public areas. The historic park was designated a National Historic Landmark on May 28, 2017 for its architectural significance.

Why Should You Visit Centennial Olympic Park

Centennial Olympic Park was created for the 1996 Summer Olympics and has since been adopted as a permanent public park. It features 27 sculptures and temporary exhibits by world-renowned artists from around the world. Centennial Olympic Park is a popular destination for both locals and visitors to Atlanta, especially on the weekends.
