Johnson Park is located in Conyers, Georgia. With an area of more than 100 acres, it is the biggest park in Rockdale County (40 hectares).

Johnson Park's entrance is at the intersection of Johnson Road and East Salem Road. There are eight picnic areas offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Johnson Park's closest campsite is the Rock Creek Horse Campground, which is approximately a mile (1.6 kilometers) away.

The park's history started in 1985, when private owners purchased the area. The area sat fallow until 2005, when Henry County commissioners bought it and turned it into a park featuring tennis courts, soccer fields, bathrooms, and an 18-hole disc golf course. The park was leased to the City of Conyers by the County in 2006, and was reopened as Johnson Park on April 16, 2006.

On the grounds of Johnson Park are a playground as well as a picnic area with grills and tables. Alternatively, there are trails leading to Stone Mountain and Panola Mountain State Parks — just follow the green trail blazes through the woods until you reach a trail intersection marked by red and white trail blazes. Hikers, bikers, and horseback riders regularly utilize the park as a trailhead to access the Atlanta area's greenway paths, which are located throughout the park. In addition to the red path, which runs past Little Stone Mountain and terminates at Big Stone Mountain, the yellow trail is a popular hiking track in the park (Stone Mountain).

Festivals such as the Chastain Park Arts Festival and the Dogwood Festival are also held at Johnson Park. If you want to visit the park, it is free and open from sunrise to sunset. If you visit the park during the winter months, please be advised that there are no amenities accessible other than port-o-lets, thus we recommend bringing a picnic basket with you to keep completely fed and hydrated.
