The Olde Town Conyers, Georgia is centrally located in Conyers, Georgia. John Holcomb founded the settlement in 1848, which was then known as "Hickory Hill" Hickory Hill. The term Olde Town Conyers originates from its past as a railroad workers' area. These employees would dwell in "hovels" alongside railways. Because of the convenience, these temporary dwelling units were created close to where people worked over time. Today, Olde Town is home to several landmarks, businesses, and shops.


Olde Town Conyers has a variety of activities and attractions for tourists to enjoy. The Rockdale County Courthouse, built in 1871, is the primary attraction. On April 14, 1983, it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Since its beginning, several more structures were constructed throughout the 1800s and early 1900s. The Central of Georgia Railway's depot is still largely intact.


Aside from art galleries and shops, the Olde Town also provides shopping opportunities for tourists looking for something different. There are several dining and drinking establishments within the historic neighborhood of Olde Town Conyers, Georgia. Some of the restaurants in the area include The Mansion on Main, which is a southern cuisine restaurant that specializes on seafood dishes. Another restaurant is Lafayette Grill, which serves sophisticated cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and is located in the heart of town. Taco Mac, which contains both a restaurant and a bar, is one of the most popular restaurants in the area. There are festivals and events taking place throughout the year in the Olde Town neighborhood, including the annual Railroad Days as well as Art in the Park, which take place in the months of February and October every year.
